Important Security Upgrade Notice for Student Dormitory Room Network Equipment

因接獲網路設備原廠重大安全性通報，宿舍寢室內部無線基地台（AP）需緊急進行系統漏洞修補與升級，以防堵資安威脅與惡意攻擊。

相關升級作業說明如下，敬請同學留意並配合。
作業說明與影響範圍
升級時間：9 月 8 日（二）18:00 – 21:00  [開學典禮及社團時間]
影響對象：全體學生宿舍各寢室
斷線時間：採分批遠端升級，每間寢室預計中斷連線約 30 分鐘。
設備警示音：基地台於重開機與寫入韌體期間，設備發出「逼逼聲」為正常硬體自我檢測現象。
注意事項：人員不進入寢室：本次升級完全由網管人員於後台遠端控制執行，網管人員不需進入寢室處理。
連線恢復：升級完成後網路將自動恢復。
造成不便，敬請同學見諒與配合。

Due to a critical security vulnerability notification issued by the manufacturer of the network equipment, the wireless access points (APs) installed inside student dormitory rooms must undergo urgent system patching and upgrades to address security vulnerabilities and prevent potential cybersecurity threats and malicious attacks.

Details of the Upgrade and Expected Impact

Please note the following details regarding the upgrade and kindly cooperate accordingly.

  • Upgrade Schedule: September 8 (Tuesday), 18:00–21:00 [Orientation Ceremony and Club Activities Period]
  • Affected Users: All students residing in the dormitories
  • Network Disconnection: The upgrade will be performed remotely in batches. Each dormitory room is expected to experience approximately 30 minutes of network interruption.
  • Device Alert Sounds: During the access point (AP) reboot and firmware installation process, the device may emit beeping sounds. This is a normal hardware self-check process and does not indicate a malfunction.
  • No Room Entry Required: The entire upgrade will be performed remotely by network administrators through the backend system. Network administrators will not need to enter any dormitory rooms.
  • Network Restoration: Network connectivity will be automatically restored once the upgrade is completed.
